Of late I’ve been bidding on lots of 1000Mbps cards on Ebay. It seems I am now the owner of a Linksys 1000Mbps card which I paid far too much for. I just need one more and I can crossover them, one in the backup server and one in the file server. With so many RAID configuration changes, I can never backup and restore files fast enough for my tastes.
Also still hunting for a 2940U2W without much luck. They’re all going for more than I want to spend. I did come across someone selling a two bay SCA drive cage with two drives and the SCSI card that goes with it. Not sure if I want it or not, but I bid on it anyway. Finally having an SCA enclosure would just be, well, cool.
I’m hoping my 7410 shows up today, but the seller never communicated a shipping tracking number, as happens so often when I buy on Ebay from someone, so it will probably show up without notice sometime next week.
I am now four weeks and counting with a crippled RAID configuration. Sigh.
