After recompiling my kernel with modular support for both ATA and SCSI, I finally realized I needed to enable initial ramdisk support in my custom kernel. You’d think after writing a whole guide on that I would’ve figured it out. It seems I have gotten spoiled using Debian stock kernels. Once I discovered the error of my ways, I brought my workstation back up. Now I can flop between my ATA disk and my SCSI array while I migrate to my new SCSI root.
Anyway, the MegaRAID ended up in my workstation. I just couldn’t resist. I probably should’ve installed the SCA bay upside down. I can’t see the pretty lights from this angle…
