Obviously, I have upgraded to a more recent version of WordPress. Unfortunately, my ideas on how best to use the horizontal on a display are different from 99% of the WP theme makers. What’s more, my original, favorite style by Sasa Jovanic, simple-blue.css, seems to be missing for the latest WP. So, I am having to retrofit it onto Beccary’s theme I found and borrowed.
Why blog schemes seem to be tied to 800×600 display resolutions I have no idea. I see little reason to penalize people that have 17″ monitors at modest resolutions. I prefer my blog to be variable with. I actually refer back to my own writings often enough that I prefer being able to maximize my browser to 1280×1024 and actually see my content. Who would’ve thought, eh?
Actually, it appears the WP developers felt the same, as the administration interface does have a variable width horizontal. Maybe I should have used that as a basis for my CSS hacking instead.
At any rate, I’m almost done. It only cost me six hours of time. I still have to tidy up the links so they behave like they did before and use a more appropriate font color so they’re actually readable.
